The number of patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick today is twice that of the busiest hospital in the country.
The latest INMO figures show there were 58 patients waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 48 of those in the emergency department.
The overall figure is 29 more than the next busiest facility – at University Hospital Cork – and comes on a day when 178 people are waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
