59 Temporary Revenue Positions Cut in Ennis

Revenue is defending its decision not to offer permanent work to almost 60 temporary employees in Ennis.

The organisation has informed 59 people that their fixed term contracts will expire on the 27th of March and as it is not in a position to offer full time work.

The workers affected have been focused on the introduction of the Local Property Tax.

Clare Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley is criticising the move and claims their workload had increased in recent months.

Deputy Dooley says the move is a retrograde step.
