The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is more than three times that of the next busiest facility, as the week begins.
The latest INMO figures show 59 people were left waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 42 of those in the emergency department.
The overall figure is 40 more than the next busiest facility; Cork University Hospital.
