The loss of 63 jobs in Shannon has been described as a devestating blow to the town.
Kraus and Nimer which supplies electrical switchgear will cease production in the Shannon Free Zone at the end of January.

Staff have been told the closure is due to the business sustaining losses for the last number of years, which has been driven by the global recession.
The Austrian owned company will be entering into a process with staff over coming days in relation to an orderly winding down of the facility.
