9% Drop In MIdwest’s Live Register Last Year

The number of people on the live register in the Mid-West dropped by over 9% last year.

At the end of 2014, just over 30,000 people were signing on in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary – that figure had risen by more than 500 in the previous month.

Across the country, the number of people singing on the live register dropped in December.

The CSO says there are 363,900 people claiming some form of unemployment benefit, and that the standardised unemployment rate eased in December to 10.6%.
