A former Killaloe doctor is expected to go on trial before Ennis Circuit Court today.

62 year old Pascal Carmody of Ballycuggeran, is facing a total of 11 charges of defrauding a number of terminally ill cancer patients.
He is accused of obtaining over 30 thousand euro by deception from terminally ill cancer patients who received photodynamic therapy, and their families at the East Clinic in Killaloe between 2001 and 2002.
A jury to hear the case is expected to be sworn in before Ennis Circuit Court this morning with the trial likely to get underway proper this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
