A street named Ali?

Ennis Town Council is being urged to consider naming a street after Muhammad Ali.

The call comes ahead of the visit of the former World Heavyweight Champion to Clare’s County town in a few weeks time to look up his Irish ancestral roots.

Documents show Ali aka Cassius Clay is the great grandson of Abe Grady from the Turnpike in Ennis who immigrated to the US in the 1860’s.
