The cost of running a small family car has soared by more than 600 euro in the last year.
An AA survey showed motorists are forking out nearly 12-thousand euro a year to run a vehicle.

While motor insurance and the price of repairs rose slightly, the biggest change was in the price of fuel.
In June of 2010 petrol cost around 133.3 cent per litre, but by June of this year that had risen to an average of 151.7 cent.
