Investigations are continuing into yesterday’s plane crash in Foynes in which the pilot escaped injury.
Just after 3 o’clock the aircraft which was participating in an air display as part of a local festival came down near Robertsown Church.

The plane’s rudder malfunctioned during the display and an emergency operation was launched with gardaí , the fire crews and several marine rescue services including Kilrush RNLI.
A team from the Air Accident Investigation Unit was called in last night.
