11 million work days are lost every year, through staff not showing up for work.
That’s according to employers body IBEC, which surveyed over 600 companies about absent workers.

People who work in call centres are the worst offenders, while those in the software industry have the best record for attendance.
IBEC spokesperson Brendan Butler says absenteeism costs companies in Ireland 1-point-5 billion euro every year.
