Iarnroid Eireann and the OPW are being urged to end a dispute on the commissioning of flood relief works in Newmarket-on-Fergus.
For the last two years sections of railway line became seriously flooded in the Ballycar area, interrupting trains between Ennis and Limerick.
Iarnroid Eireann has commissioned a study into the problem but say it’s up to the OPW to organise the flood relief scheme.

However the OPW say they won’t undertake the scheme as Iarnroid Eireann is the only significant beneficiary.
Newmarket-on-Fergus Councillor Pat McMahon says the issue must be resolved.
