He says Minister Shatter has been at the centre of a string of scandals involving the Gardai and the justice system.

Deputy Adams says the Taoiseach needs to put loyalty to Minister Shatter aside, and do what's best for the country.

Meanwhile, a union which represents over 50 Ennis-based clerical workers with An Garda Siochána says it's shocked at this week's revelations about the recording of phone calls.

The CPSU has 1500 clerical administrative civilian staff in An Garda Siochana across the country, including sixty who work at a vetting unit in Ennis.
