Aer Lingus consider restoring year round Shannon US flights

Transatlantic services from Shannon Airport could be about to receive a boost. Local representatives have been informed that  Aer Lingus is looking at restoring its year round service from the Mid West to North America.

As part of plans to expand services at Shannon, the former flag carrier is looking at purchasing smaller planes, to facilitate US flights year round.

Aer Lingus expects to carry 750,000 passengers through Clare’s international airport this year, and plans to restore full transatlantic services by 2015 but Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen is hopeful this will occur sooner than this
