A deal on Aer Lingus may not take place until after the general election, following opposition from senior Labour party figures.
The Irish Independent reports that Labour party strategists believe consenting to a sale of the State's stake prior to the election, could severely damage the chances of their Dublin-based TDs.

That's despite a statement from Aer Lingus directors yesterday, saying there's a "compelling commercial logic" to allowing I-A-G to buy the airline.
