Aer Lingus flights into New York City have resumed this morning after the city escaped the worst of tropical storm Irene.

300-thousand people evacuated from parts of the city are also being allowed back home.
However, President Obama has warned that the crisis is not over yet.- At least 20 people were killed by the storm, which also caused extensive damage along America’s eastern seaboard.
