Aer Lingus is being asked to explain it’s difficulties with Shannon Transatlantic services in light of the decision by Continental Airlines to increase their US flights.
Following the announcement of a second Continental service to Newark this Summer, Clare Deputy Joe Carey says there’s an obvious demand for transatlantic flights from Shannon, and an advantage for airlines in using the local customs pre-clearance facilities.
The Fine Gael TD is calling on Aer Lingus to follow Continental’s lead or explain how their refusal to utilise Pre-clearance at Shannon makes any commercial sense.
