The Clare Chair of the Beef Plan Group is hitting out at the Agriculture Minister for throwing money at farmers instead of sourcing the root cause of the problems in their industry.
Minister Michael Creed has announced details of the Beef Exceptional Aid Measure, known as BEAM, which is a €100 million aid package for beef farmers, to help offset market volatility and the impact of Brexit on prices.
Eligible farmers will be able to claim €100 per animal, but only if they meet the criteria set down.
