Alarming rise in lack of refuges for abuse victims

Over 3,000 victims of domestic violence were refused accommodation in a refuge last year – due to the high demand for services.

That’s just one of the stark findings by Safe Ireland- The  national organisation for domestic violence services around the country, including Clare Haven.

Over 7,000 women sought help from domestic violence support groups last year – while helplines received over 38,000 calls.
