All roads lead to Poland as Euro 2012 finally kicks off today

Thousands of football fans are getting on the road this morning with just 2 days before Ireland kick off their tournament against Croatia on Sunday.

More than 130 flights – 46 more than originally scheduled – will carry around 20 thousand avid fans from Ireland to  Poland.

The DAA says 55 flights alone will leave on Sunday for Ireland’s opening group game against Croatia in Poznan.

Extra flights have also been put on for the other group games against Spain in Gdansk on Thursday and Italy in Poznan on Sunday week.

The competition itself gets underway This evening in Warsaw, where Greece take on Poland.
