An Ennis Councillor is categorically denying that local representatives in this county are undermining public confidence in St Joseph’s Hospital in Ennis.
In a letter to the local representatives, HSE MidWest has confirmed that their preferred option for the hospital is to develop a site in Ennis.
But it also outlined concern that continued speculation and discussion about the future of the facility is causing a significant public confidence issue.
Following a court settlement with HIQA, the HSE must carry out upgrade works to bring older people residential care up to standard by 2021, either at St. Joseph’s or on a new site.
