A 22 year old woman suffering from anorexia is to be force fed in hospital by court order.
The HSE applied to the High Court – with the support of the woman’s parents, after she refused nutritional supplements.

The woman has regained some of the weight lost, and now weighs 32 kilos – or five stone, but her doctors believe she still needs to gain 7 kilos.
The High Court heard the woman does not accept that she will die if she refuses further nutrition.
