Anti-war protesters have dismissed government assurances that arms were not transported through Shannon on one of the 600 military flights which used the Airport last year.
Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has revealed that military forces from 14 countries landed flights at Shannon last year, but has told TDs he has ‘no evidence’ that stipulations concerning the use of Irish airspace were not met.

However, John Lannon of Shannon Watch says this defies logic, claiming the Minister is operating a ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy.
