Appeal to DPP for Prison Sentence for Kilrush Sex Offender

The Director of Public Prosecutions is being asked to appeal the sentence handed down to a Kilrush sex offender, after he was given another suspended prison sentence for abusing young boys.

64 year old Thomas Waters of Moore Street Kilrush walked free from Ennis Circuit Court this month, after he pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting three young boys in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s while they were attending his judo classes.

One of his victims has made an emotional appeal to Clare FM, in the hope that the DPP will seek a tougher sentence.

Using his middle name only – "John" said he’s angered and upset by the way his abuser has been dealt with by the courts
