The gates of East Clare’s Power Plant are being opened to the public as part of Ardnacrusha’s 90 birthday celebrations.
Groups of school children are among the first visitors this week, following a significant investment by the ESB to prepare the facility for tourists.
It follows a motion put forward to Clare County Council by Independent Sixmilebridge Councillor PJ Ryan.

ESB first began facilitating tours from the general public in June 1928, welcoming over 85,000 visitors within the first nine months, and Ardnacrisha Manager Alan Bane hopes returning to that tradition will prove a hit:
