Two men have been arrested following what gardai are describing as a significant drugs haul in South East Clare.
Cannabis Plants worth over 100,000 euro were seized in the raid on a house between Clonlara and Ardnacrusha last night.
Gardai from Killaloe and the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit arrested two men at the scene – they’re now being questioned by under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at stations in Ennis and Shannon.
The attic of the newly built dwelling had been converted into an illegal grow-house – containing 300 mature cannabis plants.
Following the discovery – two men -one in his twenties and one in his mid 30s – and believed to be from Counties Clare and Limerick were arrested at the house – One of the men is now being held at Shannon Garda station – while the other suspect was taken to Ennis Garda Station
They’re being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act and can be held for up to 7 days.
