An airline founded by the late Formula 1 World Champion Niki Lauda has announced a first-ever scheduled service linking Shannon Airport with Vienna.
Lauda, which is now a subsidiary of Ryanair, will fly a twice-weekly service from Shannon to the Austrian capital, beginning in March.
Shannon Airport has welcomed the move, saying it’s boost for tourism businesses along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The Airport also says that the increased route development fund for regional airports announced in Budget 2020 is a significant factor in allowing them secure the deal.
