The small white coffin carrying the body of the infant who gardaí and Greenstar staff named ‘Baby Alannah’ was lowered into the ground by four young men who worked at the plant where her remains were found on Wednesday of last week.

Flowers and toys were left by the graveside – where a plaque read Alannah – may she rest in peace.

While dozens signed books of condolence at the Redford Cemetery.

The service was carried out by Reverend Alan Breen and Monsignor Enda Lloyd – who said death caused all human wisdom to fail.

Gardaí say they published details of the funeral so Alannah’s mother could visit her grave – they’re appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
