A Ballina company has made a global breakthrough in microbiology testing in the dairy industry.
Ocular Technology has revealed a system for detecting Thermoduric Bacteria in dairy products that will save the industry up 200 million euro through reduced farmer penalties, superior product shelf life and enhanced protein concentration.

It will cut the detection times from the cureent standard of 72 hours to 24 hours and will signal a potential risk within six hours.
CEO of Ocular Technology Brian Byrne says farmers in Clare have been supportive of efforts to revolutionise the industry
