A Barefield County Councillor says she's hoping to become the first female in Clare to be voted into the Dáil in over a decade.
Ann Norton will contest the upcoming general election as an independent candidate.

She will run against a number of other candidates including Sinn Féin's Noeleen Moran, Fine Gael's Pat Breen and Joe Carey, Fianna Fail's Timmy Dooley and Clare GAA County Board Chairman Michael McDonagh.
Councillor Norton believes she'd be a strong voice for the people of Clare.
