Bathing restrictions at a West Clare beach remain in place this afternoon.
Following consultation with the HSE, Clare County Council is urging people not to swim in the sea in Kilkee.

The advisory was issued yesterday afternoon after elevated levels of bacterial contamination were recorded in a routine bathing water sample.
Tests have been carried out again today and preliminary results indicate that the event may be over but final confirmation won't be considered until additional water testing is carried out on Friday morning.
