There’s some much needed relief for dozens of Clare and Limerick families who have been without respite services for the past two months.
The mid west centre at Bawnmore which gives individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families a break re-opens today albeit on a part time basis.
However in order to keep the Brothers of Charity facility operating at all, those who avail of the service are being told they must fund raise around 100 thousand euro a year, which they say they are unable to do.

Doolin woman Maura Fitzpatrick, whose brother attends Bawnmore, says there are reservations about the re-opening.
