BOI Decision To Remove Irish From ATM’s Is “Wake Up Call” Says Ó Lionsigh

The principal of a Loop Head Gaelcholáiste hopes Bank of Ireland’s decision to scrap the Irish language from its ATMs will be a “wake up call” for Gaeilgóirí.

The bank is to phase out the Irish language from its ATMs, citing a lack of demand of the reason.

However, it has been criticised by Irish advocacy groups as well as the Minister of State with responsibility for the language.
