Irish Water has confirmed that it's lifting the notice on the Turlough Scheme, which serves over 300 premises in the New Quay and Bellharbour areas.

The 300 affected premises have been boiling their water since July when a low level of cryptosporidium was discovered.

Months of inconvenience are now over, however, with Irish Water confirming that it's lifted the warning with immediate effect.

This is after the HSE completed tests, which came after work on the local treatment plant.

Regional Manager with Irish Water, Katherine Walshe says there are no longer any water notices in Clare as a result:

Killaloe Municipal District Councillor Pat Hayes has welcomed the news, but says it's been a long time coming.
