A decision to introduce free parking in Ennis Town Centre for the entire month of December and the start of the Near Year has been described as phenomenal.
Ennis Town Council, in consultation with the Chamber of Commerce and local traders have introduced the measure starting on Saturday in the hopes of significantly boosting the Christmas spend in Clare’s County Town.
All on and off street parking spaces in the town centre will be free up until noon daily, while there will be reduced charges at the long stay carparks in Glór and Cloughleigh.

Ennis Businessman and President of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce John Dillane hopes that it will encourage consumers to spend locally over the festive season.
