The European Commission looks set to clamp down on food companies that mislead people by wrongly claiming their products can achieve certain medical results.
Products that wrongly state terms such as "low fat", "high in fibre" or "reduce blood cholesterol" will be placed on an alert list of 500 items due to be published in Brussels tomorrow.
