A broad welcome has been given to news that the new Agri-Environment Options scheme has been extended to extra farmers in the Burren area.
The scheme replaces the current reps three program, and will see farmers nationwide share 50 million euro over the next three years.
The decision to include farmers working out of the protected habitat comes following fifteen years of work by members of the Burren Life project, who work to ensure that farmers there protect the flora and fauna.
