Shannon Airport’s busiest weekend in a decade is taking off later today.
Thousands of passengers will pass through the MidWest facility over the long weekend, with an 8 percent increase on the same weekend last year predicted.
It means over 28,000 passengers will pass through the airport across the weekend.

This Saturday also sees their new direct routes to Toronto with Air Canada launch and Managing Director of the Airport Andrew Murphy says most of the growth is down to new routes like this:
