Rates Revaluation To Be Conducted In Clare

The regime of commercial rates in Clare looks set for a shake-up in the coming years.

Junior Minister John Paul Phelan has told the Dáil before the recess that a Valuation Order for Clare is expected to be signed before the end of the year.

The process, which aims to modernise the rateable valuation of commercial and industrial properties, will see them assessed to determine an up-to-date value.

Previous revaluation exercises have taken around two years in most other counties so it could be 2021 or 2022 before the new process leads to revised bills.
