Businesses from Ennis and Kilrush are to take part in a protest against the decision by Clare Councillors to raise rates charges in both towns.
Last month, local representatives voted in favour of a plan which sees rates in Ennis increase by 5.7% and by nearly 9% in Kilrush.

The change is part of an equalisation process, and bridges half of the gap between both towns and the rest of the county.
The Council has also introduced schemes to offset some of the costs, especially for smaller firms, but Pat Morris of Ennis Chamber says bigger businsesses in particular are set to lose out.
