CAB May Have Claim On Money Found Near Clare-Limerick Border

The Criminal Assets Bureau could make a claim on 1.25 million euro found near the Clare-Limerick border at the weekend, if it’s found to have come from the proceeds of illegal activity.

A 53-year-old man is still being questioned by Limerick gardaí, after a man was found digging up cash in a field in Portcrusha, Montpelier on Saturday as part of an investigation into organised crime.

Locals in the area have expressed shock and disbelief that the money could have been buried there for years.
