Clare’s Fine Gael Senator is calling for a ‘one fits all approach’ in relation to the implementation of restrictions at maternity hospitals.
The HSE has issued guidelines to each of the 19 maternity facilities across the country that partners be allowed access during labour, the 20-week scan and after birth – however each hospital can independently choose whether to follow this advice.
Additionally, the health executive has ruled out a further relaxation of restrictions for those who are fully vaccinated.
