The HSE has admitted that waiting lists for home help are significantly higher in Clare than in the rest of the MidWest.
Home Help aims to assist people to stay in their own homes, avoiding long-term care, and in Clare, 225 people have been assessed and are waiting for the supports.

Just 60 people are in a similar situation in Limerick and North Tipperary combined.
The HSE says there has been an uneven distribution of home help services historically, and insists it is prioritising the provision of the service here.
