It’s claimed that meetings of Clare’s joint policing committee could better serve the public if opened up to community groups from across the county
Clare County Council has agreed to a motion which is set to see the four annual Joint Policing Committee meetings opened up to include representatives of crime and neighbourhood watch groups as well as residents associations.
The change requires the approval of the Minister for Justice

Currently, only one of those meetings is open to the public but Shannon Councillor Gerry Flynn thinks the proposal makes sense.
