An Ennis councillor is calling on farmers in Clare to be aware of the dangers of the farmyard.

The call comes in the wake of a number of recent tragic accidents, particularly involving children.
They brought the total number of farm fatalities in Ireland this year to 17, more than the figure for all of last year.
Fine Gael representative Mary Howard feels farmers need to be particularly vigilant during this summer period.
