Ennis Town Council says it's Housing Department will assist a mother-of-four in the town who says she has been made homeless because
Ciara Meehan says her former landlord asked her family to leave the home because the maximum amount that rent allowance recipients can pay wasn't enough.

The Council says it doesn't regard Ms. Meehan as homeless, a point she strongly disagrees with, but will advise her privately of supports that are available.
It comes as a prominent Clare estate agent, Newmarket-on-Fergus based Patricia McCarthy, says the rent allowance system needs to be reviewed, because Clare landlords aren't being paid enough.
