Opposition to a controversial South East Clare Road are calling for the route to be scrapped in light of flooding in the Clonlara area.
The Limerick Northern Distributor road is included in Clare's Draft County Development Plan for 2017 to 2023, which is the first to be drawn up since the new municipal district structure was created last year.

A public consultation process is ongoing until the end of February and members of the public are being invited to make submissions.
Chairman of the Northern Distributor Concerned Residents Group Ed English is calling for the plans for the road to be scrapped as he claims part of the proposed route is currently under water.
