There are calls for the fast-tracking of funding for flood prevention works in parts of South Galway.
The area was badly hit by the heavy rain of last winter and there are concerns that not enough has been done to prevent similar problems this year.

Ardrahan Councillor Michael Fahy wants South Galway to be declared a "flood disaster zone", to expediate flood spending.
Councillor Fahy insists there have been plenty of funding announcements, but not enough action.
