Clare County Council says the location of a covered market place in Ennis was chosen after a number of studies.
The authority says the project at Garraunakilla, in the market area of the town, is in the process of being implemented at a cost of approximately 530,000 euro.

The proposal was given the green light by Ennis Town Councillors before the authority was abolished, but now some local representatives want the plans to be reassesed.
