Calls to review homelessness policy at Pavelka funeral

Political figures both in Ennis and nationwide are being urged to to review their homelessness policies to ensure the death of Jospeh Pavelka is never repeated.

Hundreds of people turned out to pay their last respects to the 52 year old Czech national who died in a laneway off O’Connell street earlier this month.

In his sermon Chief Celebrant Father Ger Fitzgerland admitted Josef was no "Holy Joe" but described his death as a tragedy and while many people have fond memories -others remember a man who had a lot of opportunties to improve and didn’t.

However he called on the authorities to do more for the most vunerable in society
