Efforts to boost visitor numbers to County Clare are paying particular attention to the French market over the coming months to co-incide with the beginning of flights from Shannon to Paris Charles de Gaulle this week.
The new Aer Lingus service will commence this Friday and Tourism Ireland say their campaign to encourage French visitors to access Ireland’s mid-west through Shannon is already well underway and will continue into 2011.
The group which promotes Ireland abroad met with tourism leaders from Clare and Limerick yesterday following what’s regarded as the toughest year on record for industry, but they’re looking forward to a return to growth next year.
